As of July 7th 2011 Viewbook uses a new payment system, that allows you to pay with your credit card directly in your Viewbook account section. With the new system you receive an invoice for every payment and you’ll have direct insight in your payment status in your account section. Viewbook does not support PayPal for new subscriptions anymore. Running subscriptions in PayPal are still supported as long as they run unchanged. (also see 'Why can't I use PayPal anymore?' below)
Use the new payment method
If you still use PayPal for your payments you can safely switch to credit card payments. Just go to your account section, choose 'Plans & Payment' and follow the steps. Of course your outstanding balance will be settled. Don't forget to cancel your subscription at PayPal at the end of the process.
Activate a new subscription or change a subscription
If you want to activate a new subscription or upgrade to another plan, you have to create a new subscription in your Viewbook account section where you can enter your credit card details. Login to your Viewbook account. Choose 'Account & Payment' at the top right and choose 'Plans & Payment' from the menu. If you have any credits from previous payments, they will be calculated automatically.

I've already paid via PayPal, will the difference be calculated?
Absolutely. Your credit will be subtracted from your first new subscription payment automatically.
Why can't I use PayPal anymore?
Because of the many issues with PayPal, we decided to change the payment method to direct credit card payments on our website. This gives us more control over the payment process. For the user this means you can now pay directly on our website, get more insight into your subscription details, payments and invoices.
What if I don't have a credit card?
Currently, Viewbook only supports credit card payments. Today, it's fairly easy to get a credit card, and it has become the standard for payments on the internet. If you don't have a credit card we're happy to keep your account open for a couple of weeks so you can arrange a card. If that's not an option for you, maybe you can ask a friend or relative.
If you really cannot obtain a credit card, please contact us here and we’ll try to come to a solution together.
Comments
Hello,
you write : "
I've already paid via PayPal, will the difference be calculated?
Absolutely. Your next payment will start at the end of the billing date of your previous PayPal subscription."
I did look at the procedure, and the system wants to bill me for $26, then the next payment at the end of the subscription. The prorata is correct (less than two months since my last paiement for six months), but it is not what I read in your faq. The faq needs to be changed, or the payement.
Or may be I misunderstood.
Kind Regards,
Gilles
Thank you for noticing Gilles, I just changed it in the text above.
Cheers!

This is so annoying. I'm from the UK and most people use debit cards not credit cards this is really limiting. You need more payment options!
You can send us a one time yearly subscription payment via PayPal. Please send a support request here.
