Available in the Standard and Pro plan.

With Viewbook Standard and Pro plan you can create individual pages. Pages are portfolio or project pages that bundle your albums, to make them available to the public. Let's start with creating a page.

Create a portfolio page

Creating is very easy. Follow the simple steps below.

1. Add a new page Click the 'New' button in the toolbar, and choose 'page'. An untitled page appears in the pages list.

2. Change the name to edit the name of your page, simply click it's title and edit. You can also click the 'settings' button in the toolbar to edit more page details.

3. Add albums to add albums to your page click on your page to open it. Then click any of your albums, hold down your mouse button and drag the album into your page. Repeat this for any album you want to add to your page.

4. Reorder albums to reorder the albums in your page click and drag the album to the desired position.

5. View your web page click the 'Open' button in the toolbar, this opens the public link to your page.

6. Make the page appear on your homepage, you can display a page on your Viewbook homepage (username.viewbook.com). Click the 'settings' button in the toolbarand check the 'Set this web page as your homepage' checkbox.

How do I change the names of my albums? They keep changing or going back to original name and I want to change them in both my managing page and my webpage. They don't seem to want to stay with the name I want to call them.

Simply open your Album. Then click the name on the left in the Album listing. It will change to edit mode.

Thank you, I have tried that a few times and it continues to go back to old name. I wanted Photography 1, Photography 2 etc and when I changed it to a name to try and rename to the one I wanted it went back to original name. A possible glitch, will try again today.

It is corrected, possibly needed to delete temp files, cookies, etc to clear off the gunk that built up yesterday, or just a glitch that shutting down corrected. Have a happy holiday season.

Hey there,

I have this problem with my viewbook page:

When I open an album from my Image Manager it opens like this: http://davidpapp.viewbook.com/album/30seconds
That's exactly how I want it to look like.

But...when I open it from my main page the album looks like this:
http://davidpapp.viewbook.com/portfolio/papp_david/album/30seconds?p=1
I don't like it. I want it to look like the first one. How could I get it to work?

Best regards,

David

Hi, how do i make it so that when my page loads, my portfolio pictures automatically show up? so that i don't have to click on the first image to "load portfolio"?

@Christina Sorry for the late reply.. I hope you already found a way. If not, it's possible if you are on the Pro plan to embed an album in a text page with the embed code that you find under 'share'. Then you can add as much text as you want beneath the album.

Do I really need a Pro account to have more than one page? I can only make one page... and cant link to another

@Gareth Michelle must have switched to another platform, we'll remove her site from the examples page. Creating filters like that isn't possible with Viewbook right now.

@Devon Yes, only the Pro plan has different page formats, navigation menu's and such, see for more specs http://support.viewbook.com/entries/60512-what-are-the-main-differe...

How do you move the "body" and "side title" etc.. I do not like any of their current placements with the presets. Is there a way to just drag them around where you want them?

You can't drag them, this will become possible in the next version of Viewbook. You can however choose one of the layouts (top, left or right)

I'm not seeing a way to move and resize page elements (e.g. title, thumbnails, text, etc.), or remove them altogether. In some of the example portfolios, they have three or more thumbnails across (mine only has two), a menu running across the top (mine is down the right side), etc. It was my understanding that there were a variety of templates to choose from, but there only appear to be different color schemes and types of pages (e.g. album, collection, text). Is it possible to drag and resize items? I am using Google Chrome; are there are any compatibility issues? Thanks for your assistance.

Gregory, if you have a Pro plan you can choose several layouts: left, top and right. This is the first dropdown box in your page properties bar. If you need any more help with this please send a support request.
