Account
Making your site is the fun part of Viewbook, but sometimes you have to take care of business. The Dashboard, Profile, and Subscription sections of your account are where you will find, among other things, your domain name, personal and company details, and payment statements. To enter the "Account” section, log in to Viewbook and click the "Account" button near the top right.
Payment and subscriptions
To upgrade your free trial to a paid subscription:
1 - Go to the accounts page by clicking the account icon near the top right of the page. It looks like a person. Select “Payment & Subscription" from the menu.
2 - Choose to pay monthly or yearly. After you select a plan you will be directed to enter payment information. Make sure you don't leave any boxes blank.
If you would like to switch from monthly to yearly, or vice versa, follow these instructions, except choose the plan you would like instead of the one you have.
Change username
Your username identifies your account and serves as your login name. Your username is chosen when you create a Viewbook trial, but you may change it at any time.
1 - Log in to your account and click the "Account" button near the top right of the page. Select your account name from the dropdown menu. In the example, the account name is "edward."
2 - The "Username" field can be found under the heading “Profile." Enter the name you want in that field. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes” when you are finished.
Note: when you change your username, your Viewbook subdomain (username.viewbook.com) will change too.
Forgotten password
It happens everyone. You can reset your password via e-mail.
1 - Go to http://viewbook.com and and click “Login."
2 - Click "Forgot password?"
3 - Enter the email associated with your Viewbook account in the text field, and click “Send e-mail" when you are ready to move on.
In a few moments an email with the next steps will be sent to you. Click the reset link in the email, and you will be guided through the rest of the process.
Change password
If you haven't forgotten your password, but still have a strong (or even mild) desire to change it:
1 - Log in to your account and click the "Account" button near the top right of the page. Select your account name from the dropdown menu. "Edward" is the account name in the example.
2 - The "Password" field is under the heading “Profile." Enter the password you would like to use in that field and click "Save Changes" underneath.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the trial?
The trial lasts forever! You can build a site and try as much as you like, and you may do so until you can't type any longer. When you are ready to present your site to the world you pay for a subscription, and your site will be viewable by everyone.
What are the Payment Terms?
Subscriptions are paid monthly or yearly via credit card. All Viewbook subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time, and your account will remain open until the end of the paid period. Viewbook accounts cost $190 per year or $19 per month.
Are there browser requirements?
Yes, there are. In general, an up to date modern browser is recommended, but the requirements for Viewbook websites can be found here. The requirements for the Viewbook Manager can be found here.
Also keep in mind that you will need a current browser when updating or adding payment information. Our payment gateway utilizes the latest versions of the SSL protocol for your (and our!) protection. Older browsers won't let you update your credit card because they were created before the most recent SSL certificates were.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to your account and click the "Account" button near the top right of the image manager. Select "Payment & Subscription" from the dropdown menu. You will find a "cancel" button below the list of subscriptions options. Click it.
Can I cancel at any time?

Why don't you have phone support?
There are so many reasons! Here are the biggest:
- SPEED! There is no need to ask what your account name is, what your email address is, etc. I get your email, I click a link, and I am in your account without having to ask a slew of questions.
- CLARITY! You can send us supporting information like screenshots or screen captures to illustrate your problems, and we can do the same to illustrate our proposed solutions.
- ORDER! Looking at incoming requests visually enables us to quickly see what problems are being reported and when. If lots of people are having the same issue we can analyze and begin solving the issue before we respond to your message, without the distraction of a constantly ringing phone.
- PRECISION! Most support with around the clock phone service is outsourced to a call center. Call center employees are generally not experts. They work from a script, and they delegate your requests accordingly. You still have to wait until the expert is available. At Viewbook, we are all experts, and we know the software very well. If you need the assistance of a developer you may need to wait a bit longer, but you are far better off emailing us than you are getting some dude in a call center. It’s worth the wait.
